Leakfinder Methodology
Leakfinder Technology in underground leak location, was developed from working on-site with various types of pipe material and soil conditions, producing a sophisticated procedure that is simple to apply, cost-effective, and gives quick & accurate results. Hydrogen Gas is the power behind Leakfinder’s success. The system developed by this company incorporates Sensistor, acoustic equipment and pressure. This cost effective method enables Leakfinder to identify the source of failure on a clear pipeline pressurized up to 10 bars, irrespective of length and diameter. Our advanced method has proven itself time and again since its inception in 2001. It is effective on all types of pipe material, pipe routes that are not clearly evident, and all types of ground cover encountered. (i.e grass, paving, bitumen or concrete) The procedure is in use daily and has been tested on more than 9 000 sites. The largest pipeline tested being 2km in length and 600mm diameter. The system is ideally suited to sites where the reticulation infrastructure is between 15mm & 150mm diameter and is also effective on internal concealed pipe-work built into brick and plasterwork. Identification of the source of the failure is usually completed within one hour on a domestic dwelling. Schools, factories, shopping malls, flats & townhouse complexes will take longer.
